Why Character Counts

In good times anyone can be a hero. It doesn't take much to show fine character in fair weather. Things are going well, clients and staff are responding, inventory is under control and margins are healthy.

But what happens when the ship takes on a bit of water? Or a lot of water? What happens when the ship is sinking

This is when the true test of character comes out.

This is the crucial moment where all seems lost. You may think that you are in ahopeless situation -- and it might really be dire – but there is still one thing under your control. One very important thing.

It’s how you respond.

You can fly off the handle and leave a wake of devastation in your path. I have seen ittime and time again across many different shops I have been a part of. I am sure you have seen it too.

Or you can take this crisis moment and lead with grace. With fine character. With kindness and fairness that will carry you past adversity and onto the promised land.

It’s not if adversity will strike, it’s when.

How will you respond the next time a storm rolls in?
